New Director of the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD
IFAD IEO welcomes its new director, Mr Oscar A. Garcia, as of 1 October 2014. Prior to joining IOE, he served as Head of the advisory services at the United Nations Environment Programme, Division of Technology, Industry and Economics in Paris. In that role, he provided guidance to the Partnership for Action on Green Economy. Previously, he was senior evaluation advisor at the Evaluation Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where he oversaw programmatic and thematic evaluations for Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Dr Juha Uitto takes office as the newly appointed Director of the GEF IEO
Juha I. Uitto started as Director of the GEF Independent Evaluation Office in September 2014. He came to the position from being the Deputy Director of the Independent Evaluation Office of the United Nations Development Programme since 2009. Prior to that, he worked as Evaluation Adviser in UNDP and as Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator/Specialist with the GEF.
