As the focus of MDB assistance shifts from individual projects toward country-based strategies, programs, and interventions having economy-wide effects, the country becomes the most logical unit of aid management and accountability.
The study identifies good practice standards (GPS) for country stategy and program evaluations (CSPEs) and classifies them into "core” GPS and "optional” GPS.
The MDBs are encouraged to draw on the GPS to improve evaluation methodologies and comparability in their CSPEs as well as to foster harmonization and partnership across MDBs.
